Disrupt Beginner Skateboarding Lessons – Real-World Confidence, From the Ground Up

Ages 4-99

At Disrupt Skateshop, our beginner skateboarding lessons are tailored for individuals who are brand new to skating. Held in a safe, outdoor skate park setting or in the shop if there is bad weather, each session is led by an experienced coach who offers one-on-one support as students learn how to:

• Identify and understand the parts of the skateboard (deck, trucks, wheels, grip tape, bolts, and bearings)

• Establish proper stance (regular or goofy)

• Learn how to balance, push, roll, and stop safely

• Practice safe fall techniques

• Build familiarity with basic movement and foot placement

We emphasize safety gear at all times—helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards—and create a supportive, fun environment where every skater progresses at their own pace.

Each student also receives an introduction to skatepark etiquette, including:

• How to take turns respectfully on ramps and features

• The importance of looking both ways before entering a run

• Encouraging fellow skaters and being part of the community

Disrupt lessons go beyond tricks—we build discipline, awareness, and confidence, setting up every student to become a strong, independent skater. Whether your child wants to master ollies or just cruise confidently, it all starts here.
